I was in high school when i literally almost burned our house into ashes.
That day, i went home late and i needed to cook my food. It was a tapa, and you must know that tapa is also a favorite of mine.
I cooked my food in our dirty kitchen because it’s where almost our fry pans are located, now the fire part. I was already on my last bite of my last tapa when i saw an orange thing outside the window and then i realized that i forgot to turn of the burner! That’s about 30 minutes after i finished cooking my food!
The fire almost reached the wood part on our dirty kitchen, the oil in on fire already! Good thing i didn’t panicked, i grab the pan and decided to throw it out, it was a bad decision since it was so windy that time, my arms hair was burned! I smelled like a goat on fire (if you know what i mean). Because i cant go out because the wind is on my direction and when i try to go out the fire will come to me since the wind was coming in my direction, thank God i thought about our bathroom in outside the house.
Thank God the fire wet off without my parents knowing what happened! Haha. Until know, they don’t know that something like that happened to me before.
And oh, i used toothpaste for the slight burns on my fingers, and it’s not visible already. :)
I will never forget that experience, and since then, i always double-check the burner if it’s turned off after cooking. Though sometimes i also get paranoid, that even when i know i already turned off the burner i still go back and check it before going to sleep. Ha Ha
